BLOOD PUNCH
A cocktail of amphetamines, murder, and chaos
Milton, a gifted chemistry student, escapes from a rehab center with the mysterious, attractive, and dangerous Skyler. She persuades him to start producing amphetamines and takes him to an abandoned cabin in the middle of the woods, where Russell—her reckless and violent boyfriend—is waiting. As the tension rises, Milton kills Russell in self-defense and buries the body. But when he wakes up the next morning, the psychotic boyfriend is alive, the day begins exactly the same as before, and they all fall into a never-ending, paranoid trip in the style of “Groundhog Day”.
A sharp, dark comedy that throws us straight into a hellscape of chaos, amphetamines, and violence, where no one can be trusted and nothing is what it seems. “Blood Punch” is the directorial debut of Madellaine Paxson. It premiered at the Austin Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Film.
