A hard-hitting thriller in which a girls’ getaway turns into a bloody nightmare

A carefree weekend getaway with a group of friends turns into a bloody nightmare when they cross paths with local degenerates and find themselves caught in a spiral of escalating violence. As danger closes in, both their friendship and their will to survive are put to the test in this intense thriller.

Amber and her four friends set off from Los Angeles for a weekend in a national park. The plan? A carefree, booze-fuelled girls’ getaway. They’re hoping to head home with monster hangovers and unforgettable memories. But things quickly go sideways. First, they discover that the locals aren’t exactly fans of fun-loving tourists. Then, while partying, the women cross paths with a group of local misogynists. As the violence escalates and the increasingly intoxicated friends begin turning on one another, they’re forced to face the local degenerates and fight for their lives.

“Find Your Friends” is an intense thriller that exposes the dark side of the seemingly glamorous party lifestyle and the pursuit of a good time at any cost. Both a portrait of a carefree generation and a blood-soaked slaughterfest, it deftly balances psychological unease with brutal confrontation. It’s a story of friendship pushed to the limit, as well as a nerve-shredding ride that draws the viewer into the women’s mounting sense of entrapment, frustration and fear. With shades of ’70s exploitation cinema, the film echoes the classic “Deliverance” (1972), in which a weekend getaway also spirals into a nightmare that changes its protagonists’ lives forever, as well as Harmony Korine’s cult hit “Spring Breakers”.

The film marks the feature directorial debut of Izabel Pakzad, who also wrote the screenplay. The cast features Helena Howard as Amber, actress and singer Bella Thorne as Lavinia, Zión Moreno as Zosia, Chloe Cherry as Lola, and Sophia Ali as Maddy. Chris Bauer, Jake Manley and Israel Broussard also appear.
