Splat!FilmFest Afterparty

On Halloween night, LabTropCrew and Cumbia Warszawa take over BarStudio, turning this socialist-realist palace into a tropical command post. Rising like an aspen stake driven straight into the heart of Warsaw, the building will be set ablaze with the sounds and rhythms of Central and South America. Striga, ghosts, ghouls and incarnations of Santa Muerte: come as you are. No questions asked.

Expect cumbia, Latin club sounds, caliente rhythms and psychedelic grooves spun from records brought across the Atlantic. Behind the decks will be selectors who have spent years digging deep and bringing some of the most electrifying corners of Latin American music to Polish dancefloors.

On the decks: Cumbia Warszawa – Abuelita, Stegny, Cosaco and LabTrop – Adobo & Karateknur.

Flying in from Vienna especially for the occasion is Little Beat More, the founder of an independent label releasing Latin American and US music on analogue formats. For this Halloween set at BarStudio, he’ll serve up a fearless, dancefloor-driven psychedelic mix made entirely from 7-inch vinyl singles.

All of this marks the grand finale of the 12th edition of Splat!FilmFest, a festival of new genre cinema taking place at Kinoteka from October 22–31, featuring nearly 100 films, including premieres of horror, thrillers, dark dramas, black comedies, sci-fi and fantasy.
