Masterclass | Aleksandar Radivojevic: How A Serbian Film Was Made – The Most Controversial Film in Cinema History
At Splat!FilmFest, we will meet Aleksandar Radivojević, co-writer of the legendary and infamous A “Serbian Film” – a work that has entered film history as one of the most shocking and hotly debated ever made. This film leaves no one indifferent – some see it as a brutal metaphor for post-socialist reality, others as a transgression of every possible moral boundary in cinema.
During the special masterclass “How A “Serbian Film” Was Made – The Most Controversial Film in Cinema History”, Aleksandar will reveal the behind-the-scenes story of the screenplay’s creation, the ideas and intentions behind the film, and how an act of artistic provocation became one of the most banned and discussed titles of the 21st century.
Radivojević – a screenwriter, director, and film scholar – is coming to us straight from Belgrade, where he continues to develop his creative projects. In Poland, he will also present his feature-length directorial debut, “Karmadonna”. But before we see his new film, we will dive into the dark depths of the creative process that shook the world of cinema.
This event is for those unafraid to look into the darkness – and to search for meaning within it.
