An explosive, bloody farce in which a brazen blonde takes on the nazis in Poland

Becky is a CIA field agent who has no intention of ducking either bullets or her superiors. Her latest assignment gives her a chance not only to indulge in the kind of bloody mayhem she loves, but also to take on a piece of history. Sent to Poland, she goes undercover within a family running an inn at the Wolf’s Lair, Hitler’s former headquarters, now turned into a tourist attraction. The problem is that the inn’s owner, Wilhelm Reuss, wants more than success in the hospitality business: he dreams of resurrecting the Third Reich. Becky will have to do whatever it takes to stop him. And, as usual, have a great time along the way, punching, scratching, kicking and destroying pretty much everything in her path.

“The Last Temptation of Becky” is a film steeped in black humour and farce. Historical accuracy and Polish reality are treated with considerable creative freedom, which is bound to raise a few knowing smiles among local audiences. Becky is always ready for a fight and sticks to her own simple rule: shoot first, ask questions later. The film combines action cinema with gleeful grotesquerie, all wrapped in a macabre excess and a near-theatrical sense of spectacle. Energetic, outrageous and shamelessly entertaining, it gives Becky’s Nazi-bashing adventures in Poland a distinctly comic-book flavour and an irreverent charm.

“The Last Temptation of Becky” is directed by Jenn Wexler, with Lulu Wilson returning to the lead role and bringing Becky both swagger and charm, while keeping her wonderfully grounded. She is joined by Neil Patrick Harris, beloved for “How I Met Your Mother”, as Reuss, a self-styled spiritual heir to Hitler, and Kate Siegel, known for her roles in “The Haunting of Hill House”, “The Haunting of Bly Manor”, “Midnight Mass” and “The Fall of the House of Usher”.
