After an encounter with a tentacled neighbor, Mary becomes unwillingly pregnant with an extraterrestrial child. An absurd sci-fi comedy and revolting body horror.

Mary rarely washes, masturbates frequently, and lives with her overprotective mother. She has no idea what to do with her life, but she knows one thing for sure: she does not want a child. One evening, she runs into her neighbor in the shared laundry room. He has plenty of problems, but the most pressing one is his… tentacle penis. When the neighbor ejaculates on Mary, she becomes pregnant. With something alien. And disgusting. Every attempt to get rid of the baby ends in failure, while Mary’s ideas for dealing with the situation come from the darkest corners of her mind. Her belly grows, her breasts become deformed, and cosmic milk squirts straight into her family doctor’s eye. Mary must contend not only with the alien growing inside her, but also with skeptical doctors, a completely unhelpful mother, and a useless future father whose tentacle penis has not yet had its final say.

“Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant” is a twisted and absurd New Zealand sci-fi comedy and body horror film all rolled into one. It is the kind of movie that does not ask the audience for permission before crossing boundaries. It simply crosses them. You may fall in love with it at first sight, or you may absolutely hate it. It can be disgusting, much like its protagonist, but beneath all the filth, slime, and bodily fluids lies a question about whether Mary has the right to her own body, her own decisions, and her autonomy. “Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant” is shameless madness with a revolting charm, sticky, eccentric cinema that is surprisingly tender. This is a film that will leave no one indifferent.

“Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant” is the feature debut of New Zealand duo THUNDERLIPS, Sean Wallace and Jordan Mark Windsor, who expanded on the idea from their 2024 short film “Help! I’m Alien Pregnant.” Hannah Lynch stars as Mary, alongside Yvette Parsons, Arlo Green, and Jackie van Beek. The film had its world premiere in January 2026 in the Midnight section at the Sundance Film Festival, before embarking on a further festival journey, screening at, among others, Night Visions, the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, HÕFF, Fantasia International Film Festival, and the New Zealand International Film Festival. In short: this monstrous baby has barely been born, and it has already traveled halfway around the world.
