An ex-con must reach his ailing mother in an apartment building overrun by gangsters and stormed by the police. A brutal, high-octane action film in the vein of “Die Hard”, packed with relentless showdowns and adrenaline-fueled thrills.

Suleyman has just been released from prison and wants only one thing: to go home, take care of his old, sick mother, and somehow put his life back together. But a lot has changed while he was away. His old apartment block, grandly and somewhat overambitiously called “Paradise,” has been taken over by gangsters, his mother has been moved to another floor, and the entire building has been turned into a fortress by a local drug lord. But the thugs have a serious problem. Suleyman is a local legend, a man known for breaking bones and ripping out windpipes with his bare hands, a fearless and ruthless guy. When the police raid “Paradise,” Suleyman will fight his way to his mother and freedom with his fists.

“Attack on Paradise” is a Belgian-Dutch take on “Die Hard,” a brutal and spectacular film whose strength lies not only in its bloody, brilliantly choreographed fights and brawls, but also in the way it is made. Neon lights, stunning cinematography, dynamic shootouts and fights, and above all a protagonist who has no desire to be heroic, make “Attack on Paradise” a perfect fit for the new wave of action cinema. The film was directed by Bob Colaers, with the screenplay written by Saïd Boumazoughe, Sven Huybrechts, and Salahdine Ibnou Kacemi. Boumazoughe not only co-created the story but also plays Suleyman, bringing authenticity and screen presence to this world-weary character. The cast also includes Achmed Akkabi, Jamal Ben Saddik, Clara Cleymans, and Imanuelle Grives.
